The 90-year-old actor was recharged today after spending more than a week in hospital following a mild heart attack.
"I am honoured to have Kalpana Chawla excellence award for my contribution in Indian Cinema and I have worked with almost every actor including Shahrukh Khan in 'Chennai Express'.
"Dilip Saab, one of my favourite co-stars, is not well these days and I pray for his good health," said Kaushal after accepting the award during a function in Gurgaon last night.
Kaushal, 86, worked with all the top leading men of her time such as Ashok Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar with whom she worked in films like 'Shaheed', 'Nadiya Ke Paar', 'Shabnam' and 'Arzoo'.
The award ceremony was organised by Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh Old Boys Association in the memory of its alumnus late astronaut Kalpana Chawla.
