Kanavani clash: SHO sent to police line

Sector 58 SHO was today sent to police line after the National Commission for Scheduled Caste report into a clash between Dalits and Gujjars over a piece of land in Kanavani village suggested police laxity led to the clash.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Preetinder Singh sent Sector 58 SHO S K Yadav to police line as punishment.
NCSC secretary J N Chamber and chairman P L Punia had visited the village on May 4 and found that police laxity led to violence between Dalits and Gujjars on April 29.
One person was killed and over a dozen were injured in the clash between members of the two castes over a piece of land.
Kanavani chowki incharge Dharmendra Dhaiya was sent to police lines three days back.
Election cell incharge Charan Singh has been made Sector 58 incharge.
