"Six to seven hours of power cuts are regular. However, when the grid frequency goes down we are forced to cut the power supply," said SN Bajpayi, MD Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCO) urging people to understand their constraints.
"We can only supply the amount of power that we are given. If we do not have power how can we give it," he added.
Demanding adequate power supply BJP MLA Salil Bishnoi said, "Despite an union minster and five SP legislators in the city, it has inadequate power. Erratic power cuts have adversely affected local businesses and denizens who have no respite in this weather."
He has also urged the district authorities to minimise load shedding.
