Shiv Kapur made a dream start with four birdies in a row and then kept his foot on the accelerator as he was six-under through the first eight holes on the third day of the Trophee Hassan II tournament, here today.
But Kapur then gave away three bogeys over next six holes and then again found a second with a birdie-birdie finish.
With a round of five-under 67 that had eight birdies and three bogeys, Kapur moved inside top-15 and was lying tied 14th with a good number of players still on the course.
The lone Indian in the event, Kapur seemed to zooming near the upper part of the leaderboard after being 50th at the end of the second day. He entered the top-10 before being pushed down by back to back bogeys on ninth and 10th. Another bogey on 14th almost threatened to wash away a major part of the gains, before Kapur stemmed the rot with two birdies on last two holes.
He finished with a card of five-under 67 as he moved from one-over for 36 holes to four-under for 54 holes. It was a superb round as he found 14 greens in regulation but left a few possible putts.
David Horsey was in lead at four-over through 11 holes in third round and he was 7-under for the tournament. Also at seven-under was Richie Ramsay who was one-under through five hole son the third day. One behind them was Emiliano Grillo who carded five-under 67 with seven birdies and one double bogey. He was six-under for 54 holes.
