Actress Kareena Kapoor set the ramp on fire with a grand entry as the show stopper for the Lakme Fashion Week grand finale here.
The actress walked the ramp at the grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014 for designer Rajesh Pratap Singh.
The finale this time was held on the lawns of a suburban five star hotel here, with zig zag shaped mirror cut outs on the runway and candles lit from bottom to top.
Wearing a long straight black dress minus the accessory and tied hairdo, Kareena looked ravishing in the avatar. As she walked the ramp fire works lit up one after the other on both the sides of the runway.
The finale presented by Singh was inspired by Lakme Absolute Color 'Illusion'. Every season Lakme puts out a collection that defines beauty and fashion statement for the season.
The show opened with models wearing white knee shirt-dress and paper headgear with lights.
The collection was a contrast divided into day and night. 'Illusion' opens with structured ensembles in very light gossamer fabrics followed by fluid silhouettes in harder opaque fabrics.
The collection had short and long dress, shimmery dresses, skirts, off shoulder dress, shirts, bundi vest, structured jackets, coats, trousers. Black color dominated the runway, besides other shades like green, yellow, steel grey, etc.
The collection was interweaving of pastel shades with metallic yarns into sheer glass weaves progressing to blacks and midnights with silver highlights.
The woven experiments feature silver, stainless steel, paper aluminium, hand woven and hand spun Khadi, silk and linen.
The five-day fashion extravaganza was held from March 12 and ended today where a total of 98 designers presented their best collection.
Celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhora opened the fashion gala this season. Besides renowned designers like Anita Dongre, Neeta Lulla, Archana Kocchar, Krishna Mehta and others, 23 designers made their debut including Mandira Bedi, Jade, Papa Don't Preach and others.
