Mohammad Jamal alias Ranjha, 28, who carried a reward of Rs one lakh on his arrest, was nabbed on a tip-off from Brahmpuri Pulia in Seelampur on June 20, DCP (north east) Ajit Singla said.
Ranjha, who was wanted in six other criminal cases, had been evading arrest since 2013. He was declared a proclaimed offender by the court, he said.
The accused belongs to a family of history-sheeters as his three brothers, namely Haji Afjal, Kamal and Umer were also wanted in several cases. His father Iqbal Ghaji and two brothers, Kamal and Umer, are in judicial custody and facing trial in a case of MCOCA registered against them at Seelampur police station, the officer said.
