The 82-year-old star declared his appreciation for the hard working team behind his creative masterpieces and believes they "deserve" to be credited for their input, reported the New York Post.
Speaking at the star-studded bash, which saw "Hitch" actor Will Smith and his 15-year-old daughter Willow admire Karl's designs on the front row, Lagerfeld said, "They (seamstresses) never get to see the show and deserve to be honoured."
The German fashion designer said he feels "today's rich'" people make people who dressed in designer garments in the past look poor.
