The 33-year-old "A Moment Like This" hitmaker took to Twitter to share the news, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!"
The affected dates start with her performance in Vienna, Virginia, and continue through two stops in Florida, one in North Carolina, and another in New Jersey.
According to Clarkson, who rose to fame in 2002 after winning the first season of "American Idol", all tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.
During her concert, Clarkson recently sang the cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space", Prince's "Purple Rain", and NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye".
