The 24-year-old singer said both her and Swift always have each others' backs, even respective music careers, reported Billboard.
"She's amazing and she's supportive. We're obviously in different genres now, but we're both songwriters at heart and root each other on.
"(Taylor)'s just really good at being yourself. That's always been her advice go with your gut, go with your heart, follow that and not anything else," Ballerini said at the backstage of the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Ballerini's new album "Unapologetically" will release in the same week as Swift's new LP "Reputation" in November.
"I haven't heard it. She's the biggest superstar in the whole world, so I'm stoked," Ballerini said.
