Inaugurating the 67th sale campaign of TB Seals by purchasing Seals worth Rs 5,000 for Kerala Raj Bhavan, he pointed out that about 1.98 million people are detected with Tuberculosis every year in the country. Though the incidence of TB has come down recently, its linkage to other health issues like Diabetes is a severe concern.
He pointed out that Kerala plans to substantially reduce incidence of TB by 2020.
He also lauded the efforts of the Tuberculosis Association of Kerala in raising funds to develop treatment facilities in hospitals and to provide nutrition to the poor patients.
