It was on April 5, 1957, Communist led government under Namboodiripad, popularly know as EMS, came to power in the state. It was also considered as the first Communist government to assume power through election in the world.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would inaugurate the celebration tomorrow at a function to be held at Nishagandi Auditorium.
Seminars on various subjects including Centre-state relation, Decentralisation and planning and Coalition politics, photo exhibition, Women parliament were some of the programmes organised as part of the celebrations from April 21 to 26, State Industries Minister A C Moideen told reporters here today.
Governor Justice (Ret) P Sathasivam would inaugurate the closing ceremony on April 26.
