Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told the Assembly here today that the government had already stocked adequate amount of anti-rabies vaccines in the hospitals and intensified steps to ensure security of people from stray dogs.
Women, children and domestic animals are largely suffering bites of stray dogs roaming around the streets, he said.
"The stray dog menace is a serious issue which poses threat to people as well as domestic animals in the state. It will be raised and discussed at an all-party meeting to be held here on July 9," he said while replying to a calling attention motion raised by Kerala Congress (M) leader Thomas Unniyadan.
"The all-party meet will look into all aspects of the issue. The activities of various government departments including local self governance, animal welfare, health and law in this regard will be co-ordinated to root out the stray dog menace," he said.
