Disclosing this at a press meet here today, State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the NDPS Act in its present form had some loopholes which had been exploited by drug peddlers and retailers.
These lacunae had to be plugged by making the law stronger by bringing in necessary amendments and the state would submit its proposals in this regard, he said.
The "clean campus save campus" campaign launched recently in the state would be taken forward far more vigorously to ensure that teenagers would not walk into the trap laid by drug pushers and vendors around colleges and schools.
The Minister said that the drug mafia, having national and international links, mainly targeted campuses and tourist spots. So the campaign would focus on sanitising these places from the influence of drug sellers and their links.
