Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today congratulated his Sports minister Anil Vij for "commendable achievements" by Haryana players in the recently concluded National Games at Kerala.
Haryana had secured second position in medal tally by bagging 107 medals including 40 each gold and silver, and 27 bronze.
The CM hoped that Haryana players will continue maintain such "outstanding performance in future."
Speaking on the sidelines of a function here, Khattar congratulated Vij, who holds the portfolios of Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister.
Notably, Vij had recently hogged the headlines over his jibes on Twitter, though BJP senior leader Anil Jain had later said that media was trying to read "too much" into it and all was well between him (Vij) and Chief Minister Khattar.
Jain had asserted that there were "no differences" between Vij and Khattar after the Sports Ministers in his tweets had indicated that he was being sidelined.
In one of his recent tweet, Vij had mentioned "Thank You Chief Minister For Taking Keen Interest into My Departments. I am Relaxed."
Meanwhile, Khattar said that Haryana government has decided to set up Gymnastic Academy at Ambala having residential facilities up to 100 children and two indoor stadiums in every district with a cost of Rs one crore each.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the launch of 'Khelega Haryana-Badhega Haryana' here today, a programme for spreading awareness towards importance of health and fitness in life.
On the occasion, the Khattar announced to lay Football Astroturf and Synthetic Track for athletics at War Heroes Memorial stadium, Ambala Cantt.
