Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has directed the state police to register an FIR and investigate alleged embezzlement of subsidy amounting to Rs 17 crore in the agriculture department, an official statement said today.
He also ordered the suspension of woman veterinary doctor for allegedly tampering with documents and causing loss to the state exchequer, it added.
The chief minister ordered action against negligent officials after the Additional Principal Secretary Rakesh Gupta, who presided over a review meeting of nodal officers of various departments here today regarding complaints received on "CM Window", a web portal for redressal of public grievances, handed over a report of the meeting to Khattar.
The chief minister took serious note of the alleged embezzlement of Rs 17 crore subsidy in the agriculture department which was meant for a fountain set and underground pipeline for farmers, the official release said.
According to the release, allegations were that officers of the agriculture department forged thumb impressions of farmers and embezzled government subsidy.
Khattar also directed lodging of an FIR against those involved in a case of misappropriation of funds in the horticulture department.
The complainant had alleged that by making a fake cluster of the horticulture department in Baliyali village of Bhiwani district, money was drawn fraudulently.
Gupta has asked the mission director of the department to come on August 3 to clarify the matter, and, has also sought details of the expenditure on subsidy schemes of central and state government for the last three years within a week.
The chief minister also ordered the suspension of a veterinary doctor posted in Sonipat, for allegedly going on foreign visits without permission, and drawing money from the state exchequer by tampering with government documents, the release said.
