Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today inaugurated 'Paudhagiri' programme, a new initiative aimed at environment conservation with the active participation of school students.
The 'Paudhagiri' programme, launched by Khattar in Karnal, would be implemented through students from class 6 to 12.
Under this campaign, 20 lakh saplings would be planted in the state that would make Haryana clean, an official spokesperson said here.
An incentive of Rs 50 in every six months would be given to the students for three years (total Rs 300 for complete 3 years) for taking care of these plants.
The chief minister also took a pledge along with people to connect them with this campaign.
Earlier, Khattar laid the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 32 crore in Karnal.
The chief minister said that equitable development was being ensured all over the state.
