Kiefer Sutherland felt rejected by his actress daughter after she snubbed his request to appear in his independent movies.
The "24" star's only child, Sarah Sutherland, has made a name for herself in Hollywood with a role on hit political comedy series "Veep".
Kiefer said he was keen to work with his kid on a pair of projects, including 2015 western "Forsaken", in which he co-starred with his father, Donald Sutherland.
However, the actor, 49, revealed his 28-year-old daughter wasn't interested - because she didn't want to raise her screen profile by cashing in on her family's famous last name, reported Contactmusic.
"There were two times I really needed a great, young actress," Kiefer recalled on US morning show "Live! With Kelly."
"One was a film with my dad, Forsaken, and another was another smaller movie, and I asked her both times if she would really help me out and do these parts. And she respectfully declined because she didn't want the association. I was like, 'No, you don't understand. I put you through college, I need your help right now!' And she was like, 'Yeah... Sorry about that.'"
Sarah is Kiefer's daughter with his first wife, Camelia Kath, who he was married to from 1987 to 1990.
