Flagging off the Yatra, Reasi MLA Ajay Nanda Nanda said efforts would be made to promote the Kousar Nag as tourist destination.
Nanda said, he will personally monitor the water availability, stay arrangements and langer facilities right from Reasi to Kousar Nag.
He asked civil administration to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to popularise the Kousar Nag by erecting hoardings at prominent locations, so that pilgrims after visiting the cave shrine of Vaishno Devi here could be diverted to such locations.
Kousar Nag is one of the highest altitude sacred springs of Kashmir situated at 30 km from Aharbal. The spring shimmers with fresh, crystal clear glacial waters and covers an area of 5 km in length and two and half kilometres in breadth.
Officers from civil and police administration besides prominent citizens, village heads and a large number of people of the area were also present on the occasion.
