Over 200 migrant relief holders held protest demonstration in support of their demand for enhancement of monthly relief for displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Raising anti-government slogans, they took out a rally towards Civil Secretariat. However, police did not allowed them to proceed, resulting in brief clashes with them.
"We are on strike for past several months in support of our demand for enhancement of monthly relief but central government has turned a blind eye to a proposal of enhancement of relief submitted to it by the state government," leader of the relief holders, Rakesh Bhat told reporters here.
"We are giving 10 days time to the state government to solve the problem and after that we will gherao the Civil Secretariat," he said.
