Newly-inducted minister M Krishnappa has been allocated the Housing department portfolio by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
A gazette notification to this effect was issued bythe Karnataka government today.
Nearly three months after a major rejig, Siddaramaiah had yesterday expanded his Cabinet by inducting Krishnappa and promoting two ministers of state, A Manju and Vinay Kulkarni, to Cabinet ranks.
Manju and Kulkarni, who were Ministers of State (Independent charge) for Animal Husbandry and Sericulture and Mines and Geology respectively, have been given the ranks of Cabinet ministers and will continue with their portfolios.
Actor-turned-politician Ambareesh had earlier held the Housing portfolio till he was dropped from the Cabinet in June.
Disgruntled over being dropped from the ministry, Ambareesh had announced his resignation as MLA but had not officially handedover any letter to the Speaker in this regard.
Siddaramaiah, in a major revamp, had sacked 14 ministers and inducted 13 members into his Council of Ministers on June 20 which had led to discontent within the Congress with several senior leaders openly coming out against the party's state leadership.
