Speaking to reporters after a coordination meeting held between senior officers of three states here, IGP, Kolhapur (Maharashtra) Ritesh Kumar said many inter-state criminal gangs operate in these states and lack of information sharing was creating problems.
The police from these states' border areas would share information on criminals, murders, robbery, thefts, drug and human trafficking and the like, he said.
Most of the time, the criminals operate in one state while reside in another causing delay in nabbing the culprits, he said.
Twenty periodical check post units will be set up in the border area to keep a watch on movements of criminals, he said. A criminal details booklet will prepared by all three state police and exchanged between them, he said.
Replying to a question on drug and liquor trafficking from Goa, Kartik Kashyap S.P (crimes) Goa, said all efforts will be made to plug the origin of illegal trafficking from Goa.
