A division bench comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magray refused to entertain the petition filed by human rights activist Parvaiz Imroz on behalf of 50 alleged victims of the mass rape that took place in 1990.
The petitioner has appealed for re-investigation into the case and compensation for the victims.
The bench observed that it would be premature for it to intervene in the case as the same was pending disposal before the Sessions Court in Kupwara.
The State Human Rights Commission had in 2011 directed the state government to pay compensation of Rs two lakh each to the victims. However, so far, no compensation has been paid.
