Kuoni Group appoints Zubin Karkaria as CEO

Switzerland-based travel services provider Kuoni Group has appointed Zubin Karkaria as the company's new Chief Executive Officer.
Karkaria currently is CEO of VFS Global, an arm of Kuoni Group, and will concurrently also continue in the same capacity.
"The Board of Directors has appointed Zubin Karkaria as the new CEO of the Kuoni Group with immediate effect. He replaces the outgoing CEO Peter Meier and concurrently continues to run the VFS Global Division," VFS Global said in a statement.
Karkaria had founded VFS Global in 2001 and built the company up very successfully to become the global leader in visa services for governments, it added.

He had earlier worked for SOTC when it was acquired by Kuoni Group in 1996. In 2005 he was appointed CEO and MD of Kuoni India and South Asia, responsible for all units of Kuoni India while simultaneously managing VFS Global's business (as CEO from 2010).
In March 2013, he was appointed to the Kuoni Group's Executive Board.
The 109-year-old Kuoni Group is listed on the Zurich Stock Exchange. The Group has three core business divisions - Global Travel Distribution, Global Travel Services and VFS Global.
