Singh was selected by a committee headed by Krishna Tirath, Minister of Women and Child Development (WCD), a statement released by the ministry said.
She has held several high level posts in the Government of Rajasthan and the Central Government. Singh was also the Chairperson Board of Revenue, Rajasthan Pollution Control Board and Commissioner for Disabled Persons, Government of Rajasthan, the statement added.
Singh has also served as the Senior Directing Staff (Civil Services) in National Defence College, Ministry of Defence. In addition to this she has been the Regional Cement Controller at Bombay for the Ministry of Textiles, the statement said.
