According to a statement released here, a detailed survey of KVS schools located in the NCR has already been conducted for installation of roof-top solar PV power system.
Based on the survey report, approximately 1.18 MWp grid connected roof-top solar PV system can be installed in 24 KVs, it added.
KVS commissioner Santosh Kumar Mall said that the KVS schools posses a huge roof-top area with a nationwide potential of 120 MW and the Solar PV projects will be a big step towards clean and green energy.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing a programme called 'Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar Power Plants Programme'. KVS has already shared data of 677 KVs with MNRE for assessing roof-top solar PV potential, the statement added.
