A labour officer was arrested
while accepting bribe from a hotel owner by Thane anti-corruption bureau sleuths here this evening.
Police inspector Dilip Vichare of ACB said that labour officer Vishal Godke had demanded Rs 15,000 from the hotel owner for not taking action over certain lapses found in inspection carried out by the labour department a few days ago.
After negotiations, he settled for Rs 8,000. After the owner filed a complaint, the ACB officials set a trap and arrested Godke red-handed in the premises of Deputy Labour Commissioner's office.
