Labourer killed as construction crane collapses, woman injured

A labourer at a construction site died and a woman got injured after a crane fell from the 20th floor of an under-construction building in Sewree area of Central Mumbai today, police said.
"The crane came crashing down from the 20th storey of a 40-storey under-construction building this afternoon. A labourer died on the spot, while a woman from the neighbouring housing complex got injured in the incident," DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
The woman is said to be in a serious condition and was taken to the nearby KEM hospital.
A complaint has been lodged against the contractor of the construction site in this regard, police said.

"However, no arrest was made in this connection," Kulkarni said. Further investigation is on.
