Lady doctor attacked by man in Kurnool

A lady doctor suffered head injuries when a man allegedly attacked her with a hammer at a religious place in Kurnool town of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.
The incident occurred during prayers at the place, when one Pradeep Kumar, in his 40s, suddenly attacked the woman with a hammer on her head resulting in bleeding injuries to her, Kurnool (Sub-Division) Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramana Kumar said.
"The man, who is known to the lady doctor, has been picked up and is being interrogated to ascertain the exact reason for him to assault her," said another police officer investigating the case.

The woman has been shifted to a hospital and her condition is stable, he said.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered in connection with the incident, police said adding that probe is on into the incident.
