Mukherjee has also been appointed to the board as Additional Director.
The bank in a filing to the BSE said that Mukherjee would serve the bank for a period of three years from the date of taking the charge.
"..Subsequent to the approval granted by the Reserve Bank of India, the Board of Directors of our Bank at their meeting held on January 22, 2016, have co-opted Parthasarathi Mukherjee as Additional Director and also appointed him as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank," the filing said.
