Hitting back at the opposition over its demand of Rajasthan Chief Minister's resignation in Lalitgate row, state BJP President Ashok Parnami today asked whether former CM Ashok Gehlot had tendered his resignation on the corruption charges levelled by his own MLAs.
"With what face Ashok Gehlot is demanding resignation of CM Vasundhara Raje when he did not resign on the corruption charges leveled by his own MLAs and rape cases in which his two ministers and MLA were allegedly involved", Parnami said in a statement here late last night.
Recalling famous Bhanwari Devi case of Gehlot regime, Parnami alleged, "Where is that Bhanvari Devi, the dalit women, now, who was allegedly killed, and one former Congress minister and MLA were accused in the case and are presently in jail. She is still not traceable by investigating agencies. One more former Congress minister is in jail on rape charges".
"Gehlot's son Vaibha Gehlot sold out Rs 100 share to a Mauritius based company at Rs 40,000. Gehlot has also allocated prime located valuable mines to his relatives. When these matters were exposed, how come Gehlot did not tender his resignation on these matters", Parnami said.
How come Gehlot was raising his voice against Raje when he had faced humiliating defeat in previous Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in 2013 and 2014 respectively, he said.
The Chief Minister is in the dock for reportedly giving an affidavit in favour of Lalit Modi, former IPL Commissioner who is facing ED probe into alleged money laundering in connection with organising of IPL tournament.
