Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said land records should be simplified and made transparent through the rectification of records undertaken in the state.
Rao, who held a meeting with ministers and offiicials on the issue, said rectification should be taken up in the first phase in 95 per cent of land records, which are not involved in any litigation or problems, a release from his office said.
He suggested that non-Telugu terms like 'Pahani' should be done away with in the maintenance of land records. Such terms should be replaced by simple Telugu words.
Rao directed that 1,193 teams be formed for the purpose of land updation, with each team being allocated nine villages, the release said.
The Core Banking System used by banks should be adopted for maintenance of land records, Rao said.
"After records updation, all the transactions done day by day should be updated as is done under the Core Banking System, digitally and online. For this, appoint 1,000 information technology officials in the revenue departments. Pattadar (title holder) should be able to get any information online," the release quoted Rao as saying.
He also suggested abolition of all revenue courts except that of the district Collector, it said.
Rao directed that a meeting of tahsildars be convened after the meeting with district Collectors, RDOs and other officers tomorrow.
