Lankan court extends remand of 14 fishermen till July 17
Press Trust of IndiaA court in Sri Lanka today extended till July 17 the remand of 14 fishermen arrested on June 2 by the island nation's naval personnel on charges of illegal fishing.
Their three boats had also been seized.
Fishermen's Association President S Emerit said they were lodged in a prison in Mannar after their arrest.
They were produced before a court in that city today and later taken to a prison in Vavuniya, he said.
