Lankan court orders remand of 15 Indian fishermen

A court in Sri Lanka today ordered remand of 15 Indian fishermen, arrested for allegedly crossing into waters of the island nation, till October 28.

Oorkavalthurai Judicial Magistrate Mahindhira Raja ordered remand of the fishermen of Jegathapattinam in Pudukottai, U Arulanandam, President of Pamban Innocent Fishermen Organisation said quoting information received from Sri Lanka.

The fishermen along with their four boats were arrested yesterday by Sri Lankan navy personnel.
