The mortal remains of CISF personnel Rajendra Prasad were Sunday consigned to flames with state honours in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district.

Prasad, an assistant sub-inspector with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Nowgaon area of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

The last rites were held at Prasad's native village in Chainpura and the funeral pyre was lit by his sons Pradeep and Satyendra.

Public representatives, officials from the Army, district administration and police paid floral tributes to Prasad.
