Police said there were two associations of advocates, one led by Rajapandian and the other by Baskaran.
The Rajapandian group had sought Late sitting as they had some agenda to discuss.
However advocate Balasubramanian, who belonged to the rival group, objected and said he would request the Munsiff to hear his case.
Irked by his stand, the rival group allegedly attacked him when he was about to enter the court.
