The victims have been identified as Kalipada Mandal, a lawyer, and his wife Shakuntala Devi (55)
The incident came to light only when the victim's son, Chandan, who lives in nearby Musaboni along with his family, visited his parents last evening and stumbled upon the decomposed bodies, police said.
Chandan keeps on visiting his parents at regular interval and had spoken to his parents last on November 28.
Though the exact cause behind the murder could not be ascertained yet, the possibility of loot and murder is not ruled out, police said.
We are investigating the incident but no breakthrough was achieved yet, he said.
