"The Government has not done any exercise for justifying its decision to create two more revenue districts. This is just a colorful exercise on the part of the government which is unnecessarily wasting public money," said R N Vats, Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee of All District Court Bar Associations of Delhi.

Drawing attention to the increased court fees, he said that the government has added to the financial burden of the common man, while taking "arbitrary" decisions to increase the number of courts for which hundreds of crores of ruppees are being spent.

"The government has failed to understand that the situation has worsened with the formation of 9 districts. This has inconvenienced the litigants, as they have to travel large distances," he alleged.

Sat Narain Sharma, Joint Secretary of the committee, said that the entire legal community is saddened over the indifferent attitude of the Delhi government towards the litigating public of Delhi as the Government has failed to provide a judicial setup in Delhi on the lines of other states as well as districts of India.

"The Government has not taken care of the fact that the court complex and the various quasi-judicial bodies of the same district have been setup at far off places, causing grave inconvenience to the citizens of Delhi," the coordinator of the committee, Jagdish Vats, said.
