Sharma, an advocate, said on Diwali night he, along with one of his female colleague, came to his chamber in the tehsil compound, when five assailants from his native Pilkhuwa Town in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh arrived at the chamber and molested his female colleague.
All the five assailants thrashed him when he resisted their advances, Sharma said, adding that they snatched "my gold chain and fled the spot". An FIR was lodged by him at Siani Gate police station.
But during investigation it was found that on the night of Diwali, both the parties were summoned to Pilkhuwa police station upon a complaint by one of the alleged assailants. As per records, both the parties were present at Pilkhuwa police station till 9:30 PM, the SHO said.
