Lead fell 0.33% to Rs 136.65 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposures amid a weak trend overseas and sluggish domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in September shed 45 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 136.65 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.

In a similar manner, the metal for delivery in current month eased by 40 paise,or 0.29%, to Rs 136.35 per kg in a volume of 517 lots.

Market analysts said besides subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange following worse-than-expected manufacturing data from China, the biggest consumer, weighed on lead futures here.
