At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March rose Rs 1.10, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 163.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 40 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in January edged higher by 30 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 163.55 per kg in 411 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid upsurge in demand from battery-makers in the spot market led to the rise in lead prices in futures trade.
