Leopard in Bhopal zoo dies due to respiratory failure

A two-year-old leopard, who had suffered a paralysis attack over six months ago, died of respiratory failure in Van Vihar Zoo-cum-national park here.
The feline named Brahma died last night, the park veterinarian Atul Gupta said.
Due to the paralysis attack that the leopard suffered in March this year, its hind limbs had stopped functioning and since then it was not keeping well, he said.
According to Gupta, the leopard was brought from Brahmapuri forest division at Chandrapur in Maharashtra in April last year.
After the post-mortem, the animal was cremated at the zoo, Gupta said.
