The spotted big cat had come to drink water in Lakhimi water spring on Amkota hill near Jagiroad when some persons killed the animal with spears and bamboo sticks last night, the officials said.
The leopard was killed on the spot, they said, adding, the body was sent to the State Zoo in Guwahati for post mortem.
