A four-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard outside his house in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district today, a police official said.
Mohammad Usman was sleeping with his grandmother outside his house in Galutti village when the leopard attacked him in the early hours, he said.
The leopard had ventured into the village from a nearby forest and fled after Usman's grandmother and other villagers raised an alarm, the official said.
The grandmother escaped unhurt.
Usman was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said, adding that the body had been handed over to the family for the last rites.
