Leopard skin seized, one held

A tribal man was today arrested after police allegedly seized a leopard skin from him at Karapalli village in Malkangiri district.
Acting on a tip-off, forest department officials, posing as prospective buyers of animal skin and body parts, approached Sanyasi Naik, Divisional Forest Officer (Malkangiri), T Ashok Kumar, said.
Sanyasi was caught when he showed them the leopard skin, valued at over Rs one lakh.
The accused has admitted to having killed the leopard about two months ago.
