"Police, with the assistance of other security forces, busted a recruitment module of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e- Toiba, thus averting a major terror and subversion plan of the terrorists.
"Seven members of the terror module were arrested from different areas of Sopore town and adjoining areas," a police spokesman said.
He said local boys were recruited into the outfit for building a network of LeT operatives and executing "various terrorist actions in and around Sopore."
"The actions were to be carried out in a criminal conspiracy with a Pakistani terrorist, with the code name of Fahadullah, who is operating in Sopore and who in turn has been taking directions from Hanzullah - an LeT commander based in Pakistan," the spokesman said.
He said Fahadullah, who is the only surviving LeT militant of Pakistani origin and active in Sopore at present, used to indoctrinate the youth with 'Jehadi' ideology.
"The group members had formally joined LeT and were provided the communication gadgets and weaponry.
Before being "baptised" into the organisation, the members of the module have been assigned with various tasks of couriering weapons and money, identifying targets vis-a-vis security installations and arranging communication devices," the spokesman said.
He said some of the members of the module were preparing to visit Pakistan on legal documents to get further training in bomb making and other subversive activities, while others were preparing other terrorist actions including grenade attacks on VIP rallies, police and security forces.
