The stock went up by 3.65 per cent to settle at Rs 525.05 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 4.57 per cent to Rs 529.70.
On NSE, it advanced by 3.69 per cent to close at Rs 525.45.
In terms of volume, 10.26 lakh shares of the company changed hands on BSE and more than 90 lakh shares were traded on NSE during the day.
LIC Housing Finance has reported a 6.3 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 407.84 crore for first quarter ended June.
Total income increased to Rs 3,379.86 crore in the quarter as against Rs 2,965.46 crore in the same period a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing.
The company provides loan for the purchase or construction of residential houses.
