District Mahila Court judge N Thirunavukkarasu awarded life sentence to Dhanheer for sexual harassment and also seven years Rigorous Imprisonment for threatening the girl.
Both sentences would run concurrently, the judge said.
The prosecution case was that Dhanheer of Gobichettipalayam saw the 15-year-old girl standing near her house and misbehaved with her and sexually harassed her. He also threatened her not to reveal anything to her parents and others.
But when she told her parents about it, they gave a written complaint to women's wing police who registered a case and arrested him.
