Light rains occurred at isolated areas in the eastern parts of Rajasthan today and the weather remained mainly dry in the western areas with Churu registering the hottest place in the state at 47 degrees Celsius.
Barmer registered 45.4 degrees Celsius while Kota, Jaisalmer, Ajmer and Jaipur recorded 44.6 degrees Celsius , 44.2 degrees Celsius , 43.3 degrees Celsius and 42.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
Heat wave conditions occurred at one or two pockets in west Rajasthan.
The department has forecast thunderstorm or duststorm with light rains at some places in east Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.
