Light rains occurred at some places in Himachal Pradesh today even as the weather remained dry in the region with strong winds lashing the surrounding areas in the state.
Gaggal recorded 19 mm rains, followed by Nehri 10 mm, Jogindernagar 9 mm, Manali and Jhungi 7 mm, Dharamshala 5 mm and Dalhousie 4 mm.
Una was the hottest during the day with a high of 36. degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar and Nahan recorded maximum temperatures at 30.9 degrees Celsius and 30.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 29.8 degrees Celsius, Solan 27.7 degrees Celsius, Palampur 27 degrees Celsius, the local Meteorological (MeT) said.
Dharamsala 26.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 22.6 degrees Celsius, Manali 17.4 degrees Celsius, Keylong 17.1 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 16.8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures rose marginally and Keylong was coldest at night, while a low of 2.7 degrees Celsius,Kalpa and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at 5.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Dharamsala at 10.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 11.4 degrees Celsius, Shimla and Solan 13.5 degrees Celsius, Una 16.3 degrees Celsius, Palampur 16.5 degrees Celsius and Nahan 18.9 degrees Celsius, it said.
The MeT office warned of thunderstorm and squall on April 9 and thunderstorm and hailstorm on April 10 in the lower and mid hills of the state.
Rains, thunderstorm or snow is also likely to occur at few places on April 7 and 8, it said.
