Singer-songwriter Lily Allen says she is planning to take time off micro-blogging site Twitter.
The 31-year-old singer has decided to take a break from the social media platform following reports she collapsed after a drinking binge at Notting Hill Carnival over the weekend.
Responding to reports about her behavior, Allen said earlier this week, "Truth is I'm just a lightweight, I had 2 cans of strongbow on an empty stomach. I'm here now and I'm absolutely fine. (sic)"
The mother-of-two has also faced claims that her career and personal life are in tatters.
She, however, told her Twitter followers: "I have been busy recording my fourth solo album and it's very close to being finished. I have postponed its delivery because I want to be on hand to settle my daughter (Ethel) into big school this Sept."
Lily then confirmed she intends to take a break from Twitter and said she hopes that her new music will soon "do the talking" for her.
"Anyway, I think I'll steer clear of the internets for a bit. This just makes me more determined TBH (to be honest). My music will do the talking soon... Until then tweeps, I'm off grid. Love you all for having my back though, thank you. (sic).
